105th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces celebrated in Moscow, Shoigu's Deputy attends the event-PHOTO

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation held an official reception in connection with the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

The event was attended by Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, ambassadors from Türkiye, Guinea-Bissau, Namibia, Nepal, Tanzania, and Angola, military attachés from many countries, high-ranking officers from the Russian Ministry of Defense, and employees from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Russian representative office.

The Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan's national anthems were performed at the beginning of the event.

Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu thanked the guests for their attendance and remarked that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijani army. In this context, he briefed the guests about the 44-day war and its spectacular results. The envoy highlighted that the courageous Azerbaijani army, under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev, earned a great victory in the Patriotic War and liberated our lands occupied for 30 years.

The diplomat noted the special attitude of Azerbaijani citizens towards our brave army. Commemorating the memory of our martyrs, the sons of Azerbaijan, who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the motherland, he highlighted that our people would never forget their heroes. He said that victory in the 44-day war is a pride for the Azerbaijanis of the world.

Later, the Ambassador gave the floor to Colonel Kanan Tahmezov, the military attaché. He provided detailed information to event participants on the history of the Azerbaijani army's establishment. He further stated that the process of reorganizing and strengthening our country's military forces began with the political resolve of our country's National Leader, Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power at the request of our people.

He emphasized that the glorious victory of our courageous army in the Patriotic War, led by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, was recorded in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan, and that the people of Azerbaijan today celebrate the Day of the Armed Forces as a triumphant nation.

The military attaché concluded his speech with the President of Azerbaijan's slogan, "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!"

Following the formal part of the ceremony, the attendees were provided with to a buffet of delectable foods from Azerbaijani national cuisine.
