Egyptian international Mahmoud Trezeguet has completed a move to Al-Rayyan on a one-season loan from Trabzonspor, APA reports citing KingFut.
The winger, who began his European journey in 2015 with Anderlecht, makes the move after being excluded from Trabzonspor’s recent squad for the Eyüpspor match.
Despite starting the season with seven appearances for the Turkish side, Trezeguet sought a new challenge after Trabzonspor’s early exit from European competitions and a move to Al-Rayyan presents a fresh opportunity.
Al-Rayyan, whose last first-place finish in the league was in the 2015/16 season, are aiming for improvement in the Qatari Stars League this season.
Trezeguet leaves Trabzonspor after two seasons with the Turkish club that saw him score 25 and assist 16 in 76 games across all competitions and lift the Super Cup.
With his European experience and international pedigree, Trezeguet, 29, is expected to make an immediate impact for the Qatari side, who are currently in eighth place in the league standings.
