Turkish companies have contributed to the reconstruction of Karabakh with projects worth more than $5 billion, Türkiye’s Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat said during his speech at the II Azerbaijan–Türkiye Investment Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that to date, Turkish companies have played a significant role in Azerbaijan, particularly in the reconstruction of the Karabakh region liberated from occupation.
According to the minister, Turkish contractors have gained significant global recognition and success by implementing more than 12,600 projects worldwide with a total value exceeding $550 billion, or more than half a trillion dollars. Within this framework, Turkish companies have carried out approximately 560 projects in Azerbaijan to date.
Ömer Bolat emphasized that, particularly following the successes of the heroic Azerbaijani Army and the sacrifices of the martyrs, Turkish companies have participated in the reconstruction of Karabakh—liberated from occupation—with projects worth more than $5 billion.
The minister noted that close cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Türkiye is currently ongoing to revitalize the regional economy of Karabakh through new investments in the industrial and agricultural sectors.
Ömer Bolat also highlighted that the Azerbaijan–Türkiye Joint Economic Commission is operating with high efficiency at the level of heads of state, adding that the relevant institutions will strive to fully implement their responsibilities by the time of the next meeting.
