Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Zaur Aliyev (55 kg) won the title of European champion, APA reports.

The athlete has achieved success at the continental championship of wrestlers under 23 years old in the capital of North Macedonia Skopje.

He defeated Adem Burak (Turkey) in the final.

Note that the number of awards won by our team at the European Championship has reached eight. Before Z. Aliyev, freestyle wrestlers Jabrail Hajiyev (70 kg) won gold, Aliabbas Rzazade (57 kg), Orkhan Abasov (86 kg) and Osman Nurmakhmedov (92 kg) - silver, Ziraddin Bayramov (65 kg), Islam Ilyasov (97 kg) and Vakhid Galaev (125 kg) - bronze.

Tomorrow Greco-Roman wrestler Hasret Jafarov (67 kg) will compete for 3rd place.
