Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during his speech at the inauguration of the BMC Ankara Tank and New Generation Armored Vehicles Production Plant and the handover ceremony of the first “New Altay” tanks, announced new targets for the country’s defense industry, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
Erdoğan stated that eight “Altay” tanks will be produced each month.
The President also noted that Türkiye maintains its position as the third country in the world in UAV production.
“Our goal is to be independent of anyone in critical materials. In our serial production line, which has 63,000 square meters of indoor space, 8 ‘Altay’ tanks, called the fortress of the battlefield, and 10 ‘Altugh’ will be produced each month,” Erdoğan emphasized.
