Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz plans to convene the National Security Council in the near future to discuss the ongoing energy crisis, according to reports by DPA.
Merz said the aim is to ensure that Germany’s economy and citizens can rely on stable supplies of key fuels, including diesel, petrol and aviation fuel.
“Our objective is clear: Germany’s economy and its citizens must be confident that the supply of essential products such as diesel fuel, petrol and jet fuel will remain stable,” he said.
He added that while the situation remains tense, supply security is currently being maintained in Germany.
