The European Union itself should be interested in restoring relations with Georgia. This was stated by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in a pre-New Year interview with the Georgian television channel Imedi, APA reports.
"Objectively, it is in the European Union's interests to restore healthy relations with Georgia. When this is not done, we can logically conclude that the European bureaucracy is not acting sovereignly and is not in the interests of the European Union and European society," Kobakhidze said.
According to the Prime Minister, Georgia is the only country that connects Central Asian states with Europe via the Black Sea. Kobakhidze noted that, given geopolitical realities, Brussels needs to access new markets.
