Germany will provide an additional €3 million to support Ukrainian veterans, who are an important resource for Ukraine’s future and should have a role in shaping it, APA reports citing Ukrinform.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced this at the 9th International Veterans Forum, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
Wadephul noted that Germany supports numerous initiatives aimed at helping Ukrainian veterans, including veteran hubs and many organizations working in this field.
“I can assure you that Germany remains committed to this cause. And our commitment is concrete – we will provide an additional €3 million to support Ukrainian veterans, because their service deserves our highest respect,” the German Foreign Minister said.
He also stressed that veterans should not be excluded from society but should be an integral part of it.
