An unidentified motorist drove a car into a crowd of people in the Netherlands on Monday, injuring nine people, three of them seriously, police said, APA reports.
They do not believe it was a deliberate act, but investigations are still ongoing. The incident occurred in the municipality of Nunspeet, about 70 kilometres east of Amsterdam.
According to media reports, the incident occurred during a light parade with decorated cars. Many spectators were standing at the side of the road.
After the incident, a large number of emergency services were deployed. According to the police, several trauma helicopters were also in operation.
The neighbouring municipality of Elburg announced that the parade had been cancelled.
