Azerbaijan's cigarette export revenues more than doubled

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 2 billion 138 million cigarettes worth 33 million 626 thousand USD, APA-Economics reports citing its calculations based on the report of the State Statistical Committee.

Cigarette exports increased 2.4 times (or by 19 million 341 thousand USD) in value terms and by 88.5% (or by 1 billion 3 million units) in volume terms compared to 2023.

During the reporting period, cigarette and cigar production in the country amounted to 16 billion 75 million units.

Recall that last year, Azerbaijan imported 74 million cigarettes worth 1 million 355 thousand USD from Türkiye (56.6 million units), Bulgaria (15.4 million units), and China (1.82 million units).

Notably, in 2024, 84% (1.8 billion units) of Azerbaijan's total cigarette exports were sent to Georgia.
