Türkiye intends to create an electricity version of TANAP, Türkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated in a comment to journalists on the sidelines of the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the energy crises experienced in recent years have prompted countries to diversify energy sources and make greater use of renewable energy potential.
The minister noted that Türkiye and Azerbaijan have significant opportunities in the field of green energy and that strong energy infrastructure and interconnection projects are essential for realizing this potential.
“As I mentioned in my speech, the project I call the electricity version of TANAP envisages the transmission of electricity generated from renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan to Türkiye and, through Türkiye, to Europe,” A. Bayraktar said.
He emphasized that the project is planned to be implemented through strong leadership and Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation.
