As of June 8, 2026, the Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP) and its integral part, the Supsa terminal, have come under the operation of SOCAR Midstream Operations LLC, SOCAR Midstream Operations told APA-Economics.
In line with the agreement reached between the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation and SOCAR, the existing operator agreement with BP has expired, and operational responsibility has been assumed by SOCAR Midstream.
It was noted that the WREP, one of the key energy routes connecting the Caspian region with the Black Sea and international markets, continues to maintain its strategic importance as a vital component of the regional energy infrastructure.
Recall that BP was previously the operator of the aforementioned infrastructure facilities.
