Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil production reaches 623 million tons

A total of 623 million tons of oil and 252.6 billion cubic meters of associated gas have been produced to date (as of May 1, 2025) from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block located in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea, APA-Economics reports, citing the information presented by SOCAR at the 31st Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, “Caspian Oil and Gas”.

According to the information, ACG is considered the largest oil and gas field in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea. Currently, seven production platforms operate within the field block. These are Chirag, Central Azeri, West Azeri, East Azeri, Deepwater Gunashli, West Chirag, and Azeri Central East (ACE).

It was noted that the newest platform, ACE, was commissioned in 2024 and operates using remotely controlled technologies. The platform has a daily production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil.

According to the information, total production from the ACE platform over its operational lifetime is projected to reach approximately 300 million barrels of oil.
