A trilateral memorandum of understanding has been signed between Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia, APA-Economics reports.
The signing of the memorandum will be an important step in the development of long-term trilateral cooperation and increasing the efficiency of the western direction of the "North-South" route.
The document envisages the harmonization of tariff approaches, the formation of a single complex tariff, the launch of regular block trains and the improvement of transportation procedures.
The implementation of these mechanisms will allow for the establishment of a more predictable, fast, and economically efficient logistics chain between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. In general, this agreement strengthens the positions of the parties as reliable participants in international transport corridors and creates favorable conditions for the continuous increase in transit flows in the region.
