“160 members attended the observation mission. The representatives of Armenia, Ukraine, and Moldova were not included in the mission for known reasons” Sergey Lebedev, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Independent States said at a briefing on the results of the extraordinary presidential elections held in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

He shared his observations: “There was voter turnout and queues to vote, the whole process competently organized by organizers. We observed that the elections were organized at a high level. Another observation I have is that people were very enthusiastic about the election. The candidates who took part in the elections were the experienced ones who participated in the presidential elections before. Ordinary people did not run for the presidency. The competitiveness of these elections held in Azerbaijan is commendable. All candidates were given all the opportunities to campaign with their programs and records."
