"Israel's operation against Hamas is a big disaster, and huge problems have arisen in Sudan as well," said Guy Ryder, the Under-Secretary-General for Policy at the United Nations today at the official opening ceremony of 11th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
He stated that the global issues must be resolved at the most appropriate time:
"Use of division and the military force is unacceptable. The UN Secretary-General has stated repeatedly that we must eliminate the destructive lines. It is obvious that the world has changed. We must go to the polar world. The agenda by year 2030 has been discussed. It is very important for the world community to eliminate the main crises. Therefore, the Global Contact Agreement was proposed. It is important to sign the global agreement, this will also eliminate the digital divide, the misuse of technologies."
Guy Ryder noted that the COP29 event scheduled to be held in Baku is of utmost importance as well and he supports Azerbaijan's chairmanship:
"The discussion at the Global Baku Forum are very important for us. Everyone must comply with the requirements of international law. I think that the Forum will cause each of us to move forward."
