Today, a meeting was held with NGOs represented in the Organization Committee established by the relevant Order of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in the Agency for State Support to NGOs regarding the hosting of 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the 19th session of the COP serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 6th session of the COP serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2024, as well as with a number of experts working on the ecological profile, the Agency told APA.

According to the information, the expectations from Azerbaijani NGOs regarding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) were brought to attention, and the issues necessary for their active participation in COP29 were discussed.

It was noted that in the Organizing Committee, in addition to state institutions, the high-level representation of hardworking, most active non-government organizations of the relevant profile is a bright example of the conditions created and the great trust shown by the state of Azerbaijan for NGOs.
