“The main topic in the agenda of COP29 will be issue of finance in fighting climate change,” said Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and chief Executive Director for COP29 Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
He said that Azerbaijan is diligently preparing for COP29: “Discussions are also ongoing internally and we will present our initiatives in the coming weeks.”
The deputy minister added that reduction of carbon emissions, global renewable energy and energy efficiency issues will be encouraged by Azerbaijan.
“The proporsals regarding with the green corridor will also be discussed. Azerbaijan is very ambitious in this matter. We are already working in this direction,” the Deputy Minister noted this in relation with the Black Sea submarine cable initiative.
