“This year our state will host another respected event - 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29. I consider that, this is one of the very important events that once again will make Azerbaijan recognized as the leader of the region on a global scale,” said Goydaniz Gahramanov, chairman of the board of Association of Travel Agencies of Azerbaijan during Tourism Industry Subjects Forum, APA reports.
According to him, the world countries supporting Azerbaijan's candidacy to host the COP29 is the result of the strong political will displayed by President Ilham Aliyev during these years:
“Holding events on this scale is entrusted only to influential, proactive, as well as stable and safe states, which are precisely these advantages that distinguish Azerbaijan from other countries. As a tourism industry, we also should be prepared for this big event, should ensure that the guests are welcomed at the highest level, and should achieve that they will return with positive impressions about Azerbaijan.
Us tourism workers – each of us must hit one target, must fulfill our responsibilities of hosting such a world-wide event at the highest level in our strong and victorious country. This event opens up great opportunities for the recognition of our country, as well as conveying its tourism potential to the world. COP29 should also be seen as an opportunity to boost the development of tourism. That’s why, we are ready to support the event at the highest level as a tourism industry."
