British PM Rishi Sunak: We believe Azerbaijan and Armenia will achieve peace until COP29

"I congratulate you on the occasion of holding the Global Baku Forum," Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak said today in his address to the official opening ceremony of XI Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

Rishi Sunak said that Baku will host the COP29 in November: "I believe that your country will adequately handle this challenge. We must reduce global waste. As an oil and gas producer, the Great Britain is committed to the Paris Agreement, and we understand the necessity to adopt a fair transition course. We must obtain ambitious results that will attract trillions to fight climate change. We applaud Azerbaijan, UAE and Brazil's joint activity in this field. We are ready to share our experience that was obtained in Glasgow in this field."

British Prime Minister noted that Britain supports the new transport connections through Capian Sea: "Currently there is a historic opportunity for Azerbaijan to put an end to the decades-long conflict with Armenia. Seeing a South Caucasus where peace was achieved until COP29 in November would be more important development."

Rishi Sunak brught to attention that the relations between Azerbaijan and Britain are developing: "We continue to support Azerbaijan regarding COP29. We believe that Azerbaijan and Armenia will achieve peace until COP29."
