It is a very important and significant event for Azerbaijan to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, who participated in the ceremonial reception on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
He noted that on the basis of international conventions, environmental protection and the fight against climate change are one of the most important directions of international relations. "This is also one of the most important directions of Azerbaijani and Russian diplomacy. Of course, Azerbaijan's hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is a very important and significant event. Therefore, we wish success to Azerbaijan. We will do our best to make this event positive both for the fight against environmental protection on a global scale and for our countries," the diplomat underlined.
