Google (the owner of YouTube) explained the blocking of the video with a briefing by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as a “violation of community principles”. Company representatives reported this to TASS, APA reports.
Google said the company’s policy “prohibits content that denies, downplays, or detracts from well-documented episodes of violence.”
Previously, Zakharova’s March 17 briefing was blocked on YouTube.
Zakharova said that with this block, the site “barbarically violated the norms” and committed an “act of undisguised digital censorship”. She noted that the State Department “reserves the right to submit an application to the appropriate authorities”.
