World Bank allocates Ukraine 378,4 million dollars

Baku. Aynur Aliyeva – APA-Economics. The world Bank has given Ukraine a loan of 378,4 million dollars on the development of the power industry, APA-Economics reports quoting newstwenty4seven.com.

 

Funds will be used to improve the reliability of power transmission systems and the improvement of the wholesale electricity market, explained in the Bank. World Bank regional Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Qimiao Fan said that the energy sector is of strategic importance for Ukraine, and the loan will help restore national network transmission and will improve the energy security of the country.

 

Credit for a period of 18 years was allocated in the framework of the aid package to Ukraine with a volume of $ 3.5 billion, approved in March 2014. To date, of these funds allocated $ 2.5 billion.

 

30 April the international monetary Fund approved stabilization program, stand by. Within its framework, Kyiv will receive $ 17 billion in two years. The first tranche of this program at 3.16 billion, Ukraine received in early may. The second (1,39 billion us dollars) in September.

 

22 December, the government of Ukraine signed with the European investment Bank (EIB) two credit agreements. The size of the first loan of 400 million euros (small business development), and the second 200 million on reconstruction).

 

Recently Ukraine is faced with a shortage of generating capacity due to the shortage of coal in thermal power plants.
