Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. "I would like to remind that I remain the only legitimate president of Ukraine, as well as Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” Viktor Yanukovich said at his news conference in Russia's Rostov-on-Don, APA reports quoting ITAR-TASS.
“I'm alive, I wasn't dismissed from office according to a procedure stipulated by Ukraine's Constitution. The US and several other countries say that I allegedly lost legitimacy because I fled from the country. I repeat: I have not fled anywhere. When the radicals were seizing governmental facilities and the presidential administration, when the anti-constitutional seizure of power took place with the use of arms, I was, as it is known, in Ukraine,” Yanukovych recalled.
“I will return to Kyiv. The (presidential) elections in May (25) are totally anti-constitutional and illegal.”
Viktor Yanukovych stated that he would address the US Supreme Court and Congress asking to give an assessment of the US authorities' actions towards Ukraine.
“Veiled as a legal government, a gang of ultra-nationalists and fascists are running the country. I would like to ask those who cover for these dark forces in the West: are you blind? have you forgotten what fascism is?"
