Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. The way out of the current US sanctions situation will take many years, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told Russia’s lower house of parliament on Monday, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, getting out of the current situation the US sanctions have produced will take many years.

The Russian Deputy FM mentioned they have struggled for 40 years to abolish the Jackson-Vanik amendment, noting that this amendment seems to be a small part of the current sanctions.

Stressing the importance of properly expressing the target of the U.S. sanctions over the Ukrainian crisis, Ryabkov said the sanctions’ aim is to create social and economic conditions to carry out a regime change in Russia: “The fact is not concealed that the sanctions’ aim is to create social and economic conditions to carry out the regime change in Russia. Russia has to take adjusted steps. Retaliatory measures against the United States are thought-out and well-balanced, and Russia will not announce its sanction counter-lists”.
