Baku – APA. The number of people leaving Crimea, especially Crimean Tatars is growing, says the statement issued by the State Border Service of Ukraine, APA reports quoting Interfax Ukraine agency. According to the service, 265 people left Crimea within a day.

“Most of them are Crimean Tatars,” the statement says.

Crimean Supreme Assembly has passed a decision to hold referendum on March 16 on annexation of the autonomous republic to Russia. Tatars object to it.

Crimean Tatars were expelled from their native lands under the decision of the Soviet government in 1944. Approximately half of them died during and after that process.
