Baku. Rufet Ahmadzadeh – APA. Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has called on the country’s citizens to save natural gas, APA reports citing Ukrainskaya Pravda.
The prime minister emphasized the importance of saving energy resources in the country during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday.
“We live in a hard time. Therefore saving use of energy resources will allow us to pass the winter”, said the prime minister.
According to him, Ukraine has managed to reduce gas consumption by 17%.
“For the first time since independence, the supply of gas from Russia has been cut off for 4 months. And it’s the first time we haven’t been able to deliver our own coal to thermal power stations. The situation is complicated”, he added.
The prime minister also noted that Ukraine needs additional import of more than 4 million tons of coal.
