APA reports quoting The Voice of Russia that a column of 5,000 to 6,000 protesters in the center of Kyiv is circumventing the area of government offices. Individual groups of activists have blocked all entrances to the Cabinet building and the National Bank. The column stopped outside of the central entrance of the government building and is chanting "Get out the gang!"
Ukraine’s former Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko said from an improvised stage on Maidan Nezalezhhnosti, or Independence Square, earlier today that the protesters will lay peaceful siege to the building to urge government resignation. Lutzenko urged the protesters to concentrate outside the Cabinet building only, while avoiding the presidential administration building where attempts were made on Sunday to break through the police cordons there.
Eight buses of the Berkut special police are standing in the courtyard of the government house but the police are not taking any action against the protesters.
“We will stay here until our demands are met: the resignation of the government of [Prime Minister] Nikolai Azarov, the resignation of Yanukovych,” said leader of the opposition Udar (Punch) party Vitali Klitschko. People in the crowd cried “Revolution!” and waved Ukrainian and EU flags.
