Baku – APA. The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) Valeriya Lutkovska said that about 50 people had been killed in Kiev clashes, APA reports quoting RBK Ukraine.
“In recent days, a terrible tragedy occurred in the streets of Kiev and other Ukrainian cities. About 50 people have been killed up to now, but there are reports that the death toll is much higher. Hundreds of people have been hospitalized,” said Valeriya Lutkovska.
Lutkovska also said that law-enforcement bodies have no right to use firearms to prevent unrests: “No international standard allows the law enforcement agencies to shoot in order to prevent riots. On the contrary, international documents call to minimize damage caused by the use of force. Such actions are crime."
