Ukraine prioritises trade, economic cooperation with Russia - Azarov

Baku-APA. Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said trade and economic agreement with Russia was Ukraine’s priority issue, APA reports quoting ITAR-TASS.

“Russia puts forth conditions: if goods go to our market through your opened markets and if we sustain losses, we’ll be forced to cut ourselves off,” Azarov said at a meeting of the Party of Region regional organisation on Saturday.

“Now our task is to come to agreement with Russia,” the premier said, adding that in the last 10 months trade turnover between the two countries had decreased by one fourth.

“We must solve the problem because trade turnover is decreasing. It is very serious and sensitive,” he said.

“The president and the government do their best to solve the problem,” Azarov said.
