Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. Ukraine's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko refuted the reports that former governor of Odessa Mikheil Saakashvili may be handed over to Georgia.
“Ukraine is not handing over its citizens to other countries,” he said, APA reports citing 112.ua.
Mikheil Saakashvili, the former president of Georgia, has resigned as governor of Ukraine’s Odessa region, joined the opposition, created a political organization and expressed his intention to come to power. Then, reports were disseminated that Ukrainian government would hand him over to Georgia. Georgia launched criminal case against Mikheil Saakashvili.

Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. Kiev may hand over former Georgian president, former governor of Odessa Mikheil Saakashvili to Georgia, Ukrainskaya Pravda reported citing a source with Ukraine’s Presidential Administration, APA reported.
According to information, Ukraine is considering this option because the government cannot strip him of citizenship in a legal way.
Another source said Saakashvili and Poroshenko had an agreement as to not severing ties until the presidential election in Ukraine.
Earlier, Saakashvili had made a statement regarding Poroshenko’s intention to deprive him of citizenship.
