Baku-APA.The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry on Monday unveiled a package of measures to accelerate the development of rural areas, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The 10-year program includes measures to boost small-scale farming, reduce poverty in rural areas and improve the level of healthcare and education in the country's villages, the ministry said on its website.
The government would strengthen the role of local governments in agriculture.
The government is also planning to provide more state support to those engaged in farming and to reduce administrative barriers in agribusiness, in particular to repeal the certification on grain quality and to cancel the mandatory inspection of agricultural machinery.
The rural development program is aimed at creating new jobs in agriculture and boosting farmers' income.
