Ukraine increases military spending

Baku. Rufet Ahmadzadeh – APA. The Verkhovna Rada has made amendments to the state budget in order to increase military spending.

 

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s draft law was approved by a majority vote. The minister is aiming to increase military spending up to $1.3 bln, APA reports quoting UNIAN.

 

According to the amendments made to the state budget and the law on taxes, the Ukrainian government will be able to spend more funds to fight separatists.

 

In his speech after the budget approval, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Ukraine is spending $5.8 mln per day on anti-terrorist operations: “Financing the army is one of the top issues. Today’s amendments are very important steps forward”.
