Ukrainian President Poroshenko has signed a law on association with the European Union immediately after its approval by the national parliament.
“From tomorrow I task the government with approving the implementation of the agreement and immediately implementing it into the force of law,” President Petro Poroshenko said at the ratification.
The ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement will pave the way for a provisional implementation of some of its trade provisions as of 1 November. It is already being interpreted by both official Russia and some forces inside Ukraine as a concession by the new Ukrainian government and EU to Russia.
