However, it is difficult to say anything about the exact date when the signing may take place yet, Kluyev said.
“I believe that Ukraine has made a great effort to sign the Association Agreement. The current pause is necessary,” he said, as quoted by the National Security and Defence Council’s press service. “We are facing big difficulties in the economy at the moment. When these problems are settled, we will naturally continue to pursue eurointegration, as we have done before.”
Kluyev noted that over the past few years, Ukraine had adopted 86 laws and regulations relating to European integration.
“The few steps that remain to be taken, including the prosecutor’s office reform act, are nothing in comparison with the work that has been accomplished over the last three years,” he added.
