U.S. imposes sanctions on two MPs from Ukraineâ€™s ruling party

APA reports that wife of the Ukrainian journalist Georgy Gongadze, who was killed in 2000, Miroslava Gongadze living in the U.S. wrote about it on her Facebook page. “It is a formal decision - Oleinyk and Bondarenko were banned from entering the United States. Fate of Klyuyev, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council remains undecided,” she wrote.

The United States abolished visas for some Ukrainian officials who used force against demonstrators in the Independence Square in November and December last year.

The European Union decided to send High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle to Kiev to support dialogue between the government and opposition. Füle will visit Ukraine on January 24-25 and Ashton next week.
