Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. “Geneva-2 conference dedicated to the peaceful solution of the Syrian conflict hasn’t been held up to now. This is the fault of neither Russian, nor Syrian government. Syrian opposition does not agree to hold the conference. Their partners are unable or don’t want to persuade them,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at today’s briefing with Syrian counterpart Walid al-Mualem , APA’s Moscow correspondent reports. He said that the dialogue among Syrians is important: “This is the most important step toweard the peaceful solution of the conflict. If Syria is attacked, it will be impossible to hold Geneva-2 conference.”

Lavrov supported the UN Secretary General, who has called the experts to return to Syria: “We will insist that the UN observers investigating the use chemical weapons return to Damascus to finish their work. They should complete their investigations.”

Russian Foreign Minister said the use of chemical weapons in Damascus on August 21 had been prepared beforehand.“There are professional assessments made by the member of the international commission Del Ponte. She has evidence on the use of chemical weapons by militants. Finally, we have got facts confirming that what happened on August 21 had been prepared beforehand,” he said.

Sergei Lavrov also said there are a lot of facts about the crimes committed in Syria by militants. “There is enough evidence. Militants upload to the internet the video of the crime they have committed. There are facts confirming the use of chemical weapons by them,” he said.
