Scuffletakes place between the police and protestors in Yerevan

Baku-APA. Scuffle between the police and protestors took place during the rally going on in Yerevan’s Liberty Square. In his speech, head of the “United Opposition Headquarters” Jirayr Sefilian ordered to install a tent in the square. At that very moment, the police rushed and took away the tent, APA reports quoting news.am.

“Heritage” party leader Raffi Hovannisian and Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valeri Osipyan began to quarrel. Scuffle began, during which the protestors pushed the group of policemen out of the crowd.

Jirayr Sefilian also urged Hayk Kyureghyan to end his hunger-strike. Moreover, he announced that the square must be full at 8:00pm Sunday.

The “New Armenia” Public Salvation Front held a rally and march Tuesday, following which it launched an open-ended sit-in in Yerevan’s Liberty Square.
