Russian State Duma adopts statement on situation in Syria - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. Russian State Duma has adopted a statement regarding the situation in Syria. APA’s Moscow correspondent reports that the statement says there is no other way except peaceful solution of Syrian problem. The parliamentarians have supported Russia's position in Syrian conflict and proposal to keep chemical weapons under the international control. The State Duma called on US Congress and parliaments of a number of countries to be against military intervention to Syria and prevent another disaster.

The State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Alexei Pushkov said that a chance appeared for political solution of the Syrian conflict after Russia offered to place chemical weapons under the international control: “If the war supporters prevail in the US, Russia will take alternative measures. These measures include sending more defense weapons to Iran and reviewing transit conditions of military trucks which are sent to Afghanistan through the territory of Russia. If the US strains the situation and choose military intervention, such measures will be normal”.

The statement was put to the vote and adopted unanimously.
