Baku – APA. Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod regional court sentenced Oleg Belov, who killed his mother, wife and six children, to life in prison, RIA Novosti reported.
A public prosecutor asked court to uphold the appeal on paying RUB 5 million to Belov’s mother-in-law for moral damage. Lawyers insisted on the innocence of the convicted person. Belov also asked the court for acquiital.
Oleg Belov stabbed his mother, wife and six children to death in an apartment the city of Nizhny Novgorod on 26 July 2015. Trying to hide traces of the crime, he dismembered the bodies, put them in plastic bags and buried. A few days later, he went to the town of Gorokhovets and killed his own mother. The next day he was wounded by police officers during the arrest. According to conclusions of judicial examination, Belov has a mental disorder.
