The decision was taken one vote short from unanimously, 153 out of 154 senators voted for canceling the resolution, APA reports quoting ITAR-TASS.
On June 24 Vladimir Putin proposed canceling the resolution to use the armed forces in Ukraine. His press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the measure was intended to stabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine and comes before trilateral talks on the issue.
The Federation Council resolution of March 1, 2014 granted a right to the president “to use Russian military forces in Ukraine to improve public and political situation in that country."
