Russian, Turkish FMs hold phone conversation

The phone conversation was initiated by the Turkish side, Lavrov told reporters.

“I had a conversation with newly-appointed Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. He expressed his sincere condolences,” Lavrov added.

“Cavusoglu said that Russian warplane violated the Turkish airspace. The Turkish minister tried to excuse an incident. He didn’t answer the question whether their actions were coordinated with the US.We have serious doubts it was an accident and prepared footage of the jet downing suggest the opposite. It all looks like a planned provocation,” Lavrov noted.

The incident occured following the airstrikes of the Russian aviation on the ISIL oil trucks. "We're not going to wage a war against Turkey. But Russia will seriously reassess all agreements with Turkey,” he added.
