Baku – APA. Russia's agriculture watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor plans to impose ban on imports of Turkish vegetable marrows, lemons and grapefruits, said Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergei Dankvert, APA reported citing Sputnik International.
Dankvert said that the watchdog planned on May 16 to impose ban on imports of Turkish vegetable marrows, lemons and grapefruits — all that is left in the allowed list — due to the systematic violations of sanitary requirements.
Moscow does not see any political context in the plans of Russia's agriculture watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor to impose a ban on imports of Turkish fruits and vegetables, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.
Russia's agriculture watchdog also announced a temporary ban on the imports of Turkish lettuce starting May 16.
