Baku-APA. The Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday criticized the United Nations Human Rights Council ( UNHRC) for its one-sided report on situation in Syria, saying support of one side of the Syrian conflict through UNHRC undermines efforts to convene an international conference on the Middle East country, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"The use of the UNHRC for supporting a side of the Syrian crisis, say, the radical opposition, does not help the search for a peaceful solution," the ministry said in a statement.

Experts from the independent investigative committee on Syria " did not use the opportunity to hear the victims and witnesses of the violence committed by Jihadists," the ministry said of a new committee report discussed at the 23rd session of the UNHRC in Geneva Tuesday.

"One-sided approach of the report was used by some countries for accusing the Syrian government of everything happening there. They have not mentioned numerous crimes and human rights violations by the armed radical groups," the statement said, emphasizing the practice would not facilitate the way out of the crisis.

Also on Wednesday, Russia probed shelling of the vicinities of its embassy in Damascus, Syria. On Monday and Tuesday, the Damascus quarters where the Russian diplomatic mission is located, were bombarded by mortars, according to the Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich.

No Russian citizens were hurt, he said.

Moscow has been currently investigating if the shellings were deliberately targeting Russian interests and citizens.
