Chief of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bortnikov said at the meeting of National Anti-terrorism Committee that 20 people killed earlier announced their collaboration with Islamic State terrorist organization.
Russian special services also identified 29,000 Russian citizens suspected of involvement in the IS.
Bortnikov noted that law enforcement agencies prevented 30 terrorist attacks, detained more than 770 bandits and their accomplices. “The number of terrorist crimes was reduced by 2.5 times,” he added.
