Baku-APA. Russia said Monday that it hoped the envoy of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) would facilitate implementation of the bloc's roadmap for the resolution of the Ukraine crisis, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"We are working on the assumption that (envoy) Heidi Tagliavini will be actively involved in the implementation of the key provisions of the roadmap," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It said the main task for Tagliavini was to help stop the violence and create conditions "for the beginning of true dialogue in Ukraine involving all political forces and regions of that country."

During a visit to Moscow on May 7, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Didier Burkhalter said the organization was mulling a four-item action plan offered for consideration to the four signatories to the Geneva agreements, so as to "know which items were points of consent and which might need adjustment for their soonest implementation."

Ukraine, Russia, the United States and the European Union reached a deal in Geneva to de-escalate Ukrainian tensions on April 17.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said experts were working on issues Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko touched upon last Friday in Normandy, France, adding that the contact group on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine's southeastern regions would bear fruit "these days."
