Russia attempts to bring its "peacekeeping" forces into Ukraine under pretext of humanitarian aid

“The Russian Federation planned a serious provocation a few hours ago. A large convoy of cars, accompanied by the Russian troops and military equipments, was moving in the direction of Ukraine as if it was agreed with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The humanitarian aid convoy had to enter Ukraine along with "peacekeeping" forces. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko immediately held an emergency meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies and had phone conversations with the leaders of the world in this regard. The International Committee of the Red Cross said that there was no agreement on sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine between the Committee and Russia. The provocation has been prevented. We are ready to receive any humanitarian aid being sent in accordance with the relevant international rules, but its being accompanied by peacekeeping forces is out of question.”
