Russia announces conditions to overcome crisis in Ukraine

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow is ready to start the establishment of multilateral support mechanism along with foreign partners to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

Russia's proposals are as follows:

- To establish Ukraine support group, which will be acceptable for all Ukrainian political forces along with the U.S. and EU;

- To strengthen Ukraine's neutral military-political status under special resolution of the UN Security Council;

- To recognize the self-determination right of the Crimean population basing on the results of the referendum;

- To convene the Constitutional Assembly with the representation of all the regions for development of the new federal Constitution by the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada;

- To hold general elections after national referendum on new draft constitution and its adoption;

- To grant the Russian language the status of second official language.

Russian Foreign Ministry said that these proposals were submitted to the U.S., European countries and other partners a week ago.
