Russia announces condition for normalization of relations with Turkey

Ankara's acknowledgement of responsibility in shooting down Russia's Su-24 plane over Syria is a key to the normalization of bilateral relations, the Russian Federation Council Speaker said.

“As you know, we are not to blame for the deterioration of the relations. We are ready to unfreeze them if the Turkish leadership recognizes its responsibility in downing a Russian aircraft over Syrian territory. However, there are not such hints from the Turkish side," Matvienko told RIA Novosti.

Matvienko also commented on the issue that Syrian Kurds don’t attend the talks related to Syria: “This position is contrary to UN resolutions. However, Turkey shows persistency and it, of course, impedes the peace process in Syria.”
