Russa’s ruble rapidly losing value
06 January 2015 12:40 (UTC +04:00)
Euro became 74 rubles at 11:30 Moscow time, 75 rubles at 12:30, and 76 rubles at 13:30. The USD rate, which was valued at 60.39 rubles at the start of the stock market, rose to 63.99 copecks after three hours, and then went down a little bit.
The depreciation of ruble is believed to be caused by the drop in oil prices; for the first time over the last six years, the price of Brent crude has dropped below 52 dollars.
